Who knew that the study of electrodes would one day take over our television screens? Liquid crystals are in reality solids. Temperature keeps them moving at a very high speed making them more like liquids than solids. A little more temperature makes them totally liquid. This technology is what in short is called the LCD.
Understanding the LCD Technology
The LCD technology uses polarized light. There is the lamination of two polarized sheets to glass with liquid crystals. A two breadth lattice of electrodes then allows each pixel in the range to be set in motion individually. This technology is what then makes it possible to see the pictures in your television. This makes the picture more real. The pixel based color system allows for the duplication of the live picture to the closest possible view.
Costs
The LCD provides a solution in getting a balance of price and size as it is cheaper that plasma and other display modes. The wide angle view also keeps them ahead of competition.
If you are in6trested in buying a television that will keep you glued then it is important to note that the best flat screen television shall be both light, and cheap to get your attention. With the fall of large screen production costs, LCD has also ventured into the large screen fields, with their lighter panels making them easy to carry.
The old CRT technology created very heavy televisions that used too much electricity for the bombardment of atoms on the screen for vision not to mention the number of times you would need the interior designer to change the settings for your TV room to fit in your new set!
LCD TVs are light and flat! They do not cost us more electricity in the end. Having one of this creates that extra space in your wallet for self development. These televisions have been in development for a while now, and they have proved to be able to compete with plasma.
Before, plasma held an advantage over LCDs as they could build large screens while LCD televisions were limited to small screens. But recent developments by Samsung, LG and other major brands have corrected that. The Television offers a more converged vision with an ability to fit on any wall in your home.
Other Newbies
Above all, some LCD panels can show two different sets of scenes differently. This allows you to surf two or more channels at a time. With a higher resolution than other displays, you have a clear picture and access to all your favorite television programs through out the day!
Some companies as Samsung are claiming to have LCDs that can go as much as four times the resolution of other displays! They also have built a wide angle of 180 degrees! This wide view is certainly a selling point for the football lovers that do not want to loose any dome action even when it is their turn to fetch the beers!
Indeed the pace at which LCDs have grown is fast. Embracing this technology will not only give it the edge to develop further, but also provide LCD developers with important feedback that will help improve the development further.
